What are you passionate about? I am extremely passionate about helping survivors of trauma and abuse. My purpose in this life is to help survivors find a sense of security, peace of mind, and healing. I’ve witnessed some amazing feats of strength and love from people who have experienced unimaginable pain. It motivates me to keep working hard every day.
What are your favorite things to do? Anything outdoors. I love hiking, fishing, kayaking, swimming… I also love reading and traveling.
If you were a car, what kind of a car would you be? I would be an SUV because I’m versatile, prepared for all conditions, dependable, and safe.
Where did you go to school? I received my Masters of Clinical Counseling from Bellevue University in Nebraska. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor and am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
Tell us about a person who means a lot to you. My grandmother. She was the strongest and most opinionated woman I’ve ever met. She never apologized for being who she was and loved her family fiercely.
Favorite song? Mumford and Sons, Below My Feet. I remember hearing it for the first time and the message struck me as something I should strive to remember every day. “Keep the earth below my feet, for my sweat, my blood runs weak. Let me learn from where I have been. Keep my eyes to serve, my hands to learn.”
