Food is more than nourishment — it’s comfort, connection, and dignity. It’s a human right. Yet too many people in our community quietly struggle with food insecurity, unsure where their next meal will come from. Hunger doesn’t always have a face you recognize — it can be a co-worker, a classmate’s family, or an elderly neighbor just trying to get by. This is only being magnified with SNAP benefits being paused and our pantry’s being underfunded.

I learned early on that no one should ever have to go without. My mom taught me that lesson in the most powerful way — through community service. We were consistently partnering with different organizations to gather, distribute or serve meals growing up. She never turned away someone in need, whether it was a friend going through a hard time or a stranger who needed a warm meal. I of course was also making sure the pets also had some food:) From her, I learned that food is not something we earn — it’s something we all deserve.

That’s why our office is proud to host a community food drive to support local families and food banks. From now through the new year, we’ll be collecting non-perishable food items — things like canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, rice, peanut butter, and soups — to help restock the shelves and bring relief to those facing hunger.

Each donation, no matter how small, makes a difference. A can of soup might mean comfort on a cold night. A bag of rice might mean a family meal shared together. These are small acts of love that ripple outward.

We invite you to join us-for donations-or food pickup. Drop off your donations at Healing Tree Counseling during business hours. Need some food? Stop in. No questions. No Judgement. Take what you need, leave what you can.

Together, we can honor the belief my mom passed down to me — that everyone deserves to eat, and that kindness can start with something as simple as sharing what’s on our own table.

No Judgment. No Questions. We are here.
